Hviezdne noci x Nová Synagóga v unikátnom spojení prinášajú legendárnu newyorskú skupinu SWANS. 

V rámci svojho európskeho turné, prvom po šiestich rokoch, vystúpi legendárna experimentálna rocková skupina SWANS v priestoroch Novej Synagógy. Pôjde o jeden zo zážitkov na celý život – pozývame 25.5. do Žiliny.

SWANS budú vystupovať s otváracím koncertom od gitaristu Normana Westberga.

SWANS netreba predstavovať, svojou prítomnosťou už od 80. rokov minulého storočia udávali smer a posúvali hranice toho, ako môže rocková hudba znieť. V množstve inkarnácií na čele s frontmanom Michaelom Girom SWANS preskúmali viacero zvukových teritórií od no wave, industriálu až po ich vlastnú bolestivú verziu nekonečných baladických rockových litánií. V novej inkarnácií, ktorá prišla s albumom leaving meaning. predstavili i svoju jemnejšiu verziu v pomalých atmosférických aranžmánoch. Ich živé vystúpenia sú pojmom sami o sebe. Ide o bolestivé a zároveň povznášajúce kolektívne meditácie v obkolesení hluku a aranžmánov pred ktorými sa rovnako, ako pred deklamujúcim prejavom Giru nie je kam skryť.

Hviezdne noci sú kolektív pôsobiaci v rovnomennom kultúrnom centre v Bytči v priestoroch Ladovne. Okrem prinášania lokálnej činnosti, festivalov a pravidelného programu na periférií je jeho ambíciou rozširovať svoje hranice do medzidruhových spoluprác a zasiahnuť aj priestor mimo Bytče. Pilotným projektom je práve koncert SWANS v spolupráci s priestorom Novej Synagógy a ľudí z kolektívu okolo nej.

Hviezdne noci x New Synagogue in a unique collaboration presents legendary New York band SWANS. 

As a part of their 2023 Europe tour, the first in six years, SWANS will perform in the captivating space of the New Synagogue in Zilina, Slovakia. One in a lifetime experience will take place on the 25th of May.

SWANS will perform with the opening set of their former guitarist Norman Westberg.
SWANS are Michael Gira, Kristof Hahn, Larry Mullins, Phil Puleo, Dana Schechter and Christopher Pravdica

SWANS needs no introduction. Since the 80s they set the direction and pushed the boundaries of what rock music can sound like. In a number of incarnations fronted by Michael Gira, SWANS have explored multiple sonic territories from no wave, industrial to their own aching versions of endless ballad rock litanies. In the new incarnation that came with the album leaving meaning. they also presented their softer version in slow atmospheric arrangements. Their live performances are a phenomenon in their own way. They are painful and uplifting collective meditations surrounded by noise and arrangements, from which there is nowhere to hide, just like from Gira’s declamatory speech.

Hviezdne noci is a collective working in the cultural center of the same name in Bytča, in the venue of Ladovna. In addition to bringing regular local activities and the festival, its ambition is to expand its borders into cross-species cooperation and program outside the city of Bytča. The pilot project is the SWANS concert in cooperation with the space of the New Synagogue and people from the collective around it.
